Abandoned boat wrecks are a major environmental problem, and this year alone The Norwegian Retailers’ Environment Fund has helped finance the removal of more than 3,500 tonnes of boat wrecks along the Norwegian coastline. The boats in Smedvågen are among the many wrecks that have been removed, freeing nature from litter and environmentally harmful emissions.

A clean coastline for Averøya

The Mayor herself, Ingrid Ovidie Rangønes, was also present to witness this incredible work.

-No funds have been allocated for this, so the fact that The Norwegian Retailers' Environment Fund is stepping in and helping us is nothing short of fantastic.
